  7. Control is a Workbench tool that is designed to work with any printer that is 
  8. supported in the Amiga Preferences.  This tool will allow you to quickly 
  9. change from one printer mode to another.  This program works well with 
  10. Scribble!, and several other popular word processors and editors.
  11.  
  12. The program is mouse driven (except in two places).  The screen is divided up
  13. into four major sections.
  14.  
  15. The RESET section contains a button that will reset your printer to power-up
  16. condition.
  17.  
  18. The Command section (located in the upper right of the screen) is the printer
  19. test area, the eject the page (TOF), show current printer settings (SET) and 
  20. the HELP command.  
  21.  
  22. The third section, the action section is where you select the type of printing
  23. you wish.  The following is a list of commands that the CONTROL PANEL supports:

  25.       NLQ   - Near Letter Quality
  26.       DRAFT - Draft Mode
  27.       CDND  - Condensed Print (15 CPI)
  28.       NORMAL- Normal Spacing (10 or 12 CPI)
  29.       DB STK- Double Strike ON 
  30.               (often used for printers that do not have a NLQ mode)
  31.       DB OFF- Turn Double Strike OFF
  32.       BOLD  - Set printer to Bold type printing
  33.       BD OFF- Turn off Bold mode 
  34.       ITALCS- Set printer in Italics mode
  35.       IT OFF- Turn Italics off
  36.       10 PCH- Set printer to 10 Characters per inch (CPI)
  37.       12 PCH- Set printer to 12 Characters per inch (CPI)

  39. The fourth section is the Status section.  This section will show you what
  40. the printer is currently doing, or the last command that you executed.

  42. What is this program useful for?
  43.  
  44. This program will work with databases for example.  It will allow you to
  45. fine-tune your reports, give your reports a capability that the programmers
  46. did not think you needed.
